Kodi 17 Krypton released


Kodi is the most popular, award-winning open source media center software. Today the team announced its latest version Kodi 17 Krypton which brings changes in default user interfaces, settings organization. As for every software updates this version also include stability improvements and lots of bug fixes.

The new update includes two new UI themes – one for TV and the another for touch devices namely Estuary and Estouchy respectively.

Other features include:

  • Extended support for streaming protocols like RTMP, MPEG-DASH, SmoothStream and NXMSL
  • Hardware-accelerated DVD playback
  • OpenGL dithering when performing colour conversion
  • Improved performance for tag scraping
  • Support for mood and artist role tags
  • Faster browsing speed for larger libraries
